Project Overview:

The project involved designing the user interface and experience for Kalendr, a SaaS platform aimed at simplifying schedule management and enhancing productivity through seamless integrations and user-centric design.

Challenge:

The challenge was multifaceted: to create a cohesive system that integrates various third-party applications and services, to provide a one-stop solution for schedule management, while ensuring the interface remains intuitive and easy to navigate.

Design Process and Contributions:

As the lead on the Kalendr design team, my contributions were comprehensive:

  1. User Experience Strategy: Conducting workshops and user journey mapping to understand the end-to-end process of schedule management for individuals and teams.
  2. Interface Design: Utilizing a minimalistic yet functional approach, I designed the UI to facilitate a distraction-free environment, focusing on task completion and ease of access to essential features.
  3. Prototyping and Usability Testing: Developing interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma and Sketch, followed by iterative testing to refine the user flows and interface elements.
  4. Design System Creation: Establishing a design system that includes reusable components and guidelines to maintain consistency across the platform.
  5. Integration Framework Design: Architecting a visually organized system for integrating numerous third-party apps, ensuring users can easily connect and manage their preferred tools and services.

Innovative Features:

  • Unified Dashboard: Providing a centralized view that aggregates schedules from connected apps, offering a clear overview of the user’s commitments and tasks.
  • Smart Scheduling: Integrating AI to suggest optimal meeting times and manage rescheduling conflicts, based on user preferences and historical data.
  • App Integration Hub: Creating a hub that allows users to connect to their favorite productivity tools, from email clients and payment systems to CRM and analytics services.

Accessibility and Inclusion:

Inclusivity was key in the design process. The platform features high-contrast UI elements, keyboard navigability, and screen reader compatibility, adhering to accessibility standards and providing equal usability for all users.

Responsive and Adaptive Design:

Acknowledging the need for access across various devices, the design ensures that the Kalendr platform is fully responsive, providing a consistent and seamless experience whether on desktop, tablet, or mobile.

Outcome:

Post-launch, Kalendr has been praised for its intuitive design and seamless integration capabilities. Users have reported increased productivity and a more organized approach to managing their schedules. The design has been highlighted for its elegance and the ease with which users can navigate the platform's extensive features.

Conclusion:

The Kalendr project is a testament to the power of thoughtful design in the SaaS industry. It showcases my expertise in creating a product that not only meets the functional requirements of schedule management but does so with a user-first approach, ensuring that the end product is not just functional but a delight to use. It stands as a clear indicator of my ability to deliver SaaS solutions that are at the forefront of the industry, providing users with a tool that enhances their daily lives and work productivity.
